"The healing, healer, health, holistic, all means returning back to the wholeness. We return the memory back to the wholeness. When we are whole we are healed. When we are healed we are holy. Holy means we are made out of the nothingness of the stardust from our hands. When we become holy we remember how to use the imagination as a healer for ourselves and then to others". ~Darryl Slim
Location and Experience:
Welcome to our homelands 2 minutes south of historic Hueco Tanks State Park, El Paso, Tx. This park is renowned for its majestic cliffs, bouldering, caves and pictographs. Generations before it was a park, it was the holder of water for the El Paso Region and the courageous travelers who made their way west through "The Pass" (El Paso). The lands we tend to stand in the view of mother water mountain, the Hueco, water holder, and her ancient perspective on life. Her presence is felt throughout these desert lands and we honor those who have relied on her since time's origination. These homelands are in my paternal blood line, containing the memories of my immediate family as children running through her caves and finding shelter in her shade and she also retells the story of the Apache, Pueblo ancestors plight to survive the elements and settlements. Here in the Chihuahuan desert, life is governed by the elements and immersion takes us back in time, a simpler time, when survival depended on being in rhythm, staying attuned, and breathing through mediative movements necessary for life to thrive. This was daily ceremony and we invite you to experience ceremony from sunrise to sunset, to moon rise and set, and stars rotating. The beauty of waiting on miracles to sustain life and the desert's stillness facilitates listening at the deepest soul level of beginnings and endings assisting with clarity and gratitude for healing and wholeness.
Life Rhythms/Mental Awareness:
The desert is a canvas of light and shadow. With very little modernity (off-grid), we stand in the desert able to observe the fall of light rays as they bring us rainbows of colors and awaken with birdsong. We fall into natural patterns of belonging to the greater whole of life. When earth rises, wind blows, memory of ocean remains and water falls from the sky. The sun warms the land and we move with gratitude for resources and falling naturally into the rhythms that sustain life. We lead people into these rhthyms providing adventures, rituals and observances understood more deeply through language and song to mark the day's beginning and end. As we do so, we fall into proper alignment with circadian rhythms, seasonal rhythms, tidal pulls, and lunar magic.
Breathwork/Meditation:
To location, we add indigenous, yogic, and healing breathwork combined with meditation for self-realization. Both are powerful and gentle exercises in returning to breath and awareness for realizing. Breath is our first and last possession and can lead us into the places we most fear or long to know. With the breath we touch the internal and meet the external where we find expression in voice, returning to natural speech patterns and heart talkstory. We breathe together in nature, with our bodies and awareness, and find the stories of our heart that are seeking to heal our wholeness.
Movement/Sleep:
With the breath we find the stillness that moves and the silence that speaks. Naturally the tidal pulls begins to move us to cyclically and circles, spirals, and stretches the body into its most healed states. We begin to explore these in connection with ritual containers and learn to read our bodies natural movements as messages from soul memory as it takes each step into the great unknown. We learn how to move together with the celestial, animal, and explore the capabilities inherent in body human experiencing life day by day within the natural. At days' end and within the pauses of steps we rest deeply and return to the night to sleep and dream restfully and without tiredness.
Ceremony:
As we meditatively and naturally move in time and space the elements direct our attention through chaos to messages for our life unfolding in sacred story and symbols. We enter into the mythic, or timelessness of ceremony. Here we hold containers as native peoples, Mexican, Apache, Pueblo, Raramuri, Navajo Dine' and bypass the modern day desire to change shamanism and curanderismo into a power structure. Instead, we return it back to the heart and land in service to the wholeness we offer instead joy, beauty, love, and peace. May our hearts ever humble to these offerings and the people who come and also remember our supernatural ability to be both healers and the force of healing. Here we remember daily how imagination and memory work together to honor the ancient patterns of our ancestors and willingly embrace ourselves as the new patterns unfolding for the millennial. May we ever be the beloved grand babies of our beloved ancestors, thanking all in existence through the way we walk on this beautiful earth.
Whole, Healed and Holy:
We work directly with ceremony, ritual, teacher plants and elements to help people return their bodies and mind to a thriving state. These can include mud baths, tobacco ceremonies, sweat lodges, sand paintings, and other elements of traditional ceremonies.
